On Tuesday morning I got my wisdom teeth removed. (I apparently had three of them.) I was pretty much knocked out all day. I slept on the recliner for like 6 hours as soon as i got home. And the new cat that my parents got for my two little sisters was the sweetest thing-- she slept with me practically the entire time. ^^ --*randomly cracks up at Spoony's Arnold impersonation in his 2012 vlog* * yes, I'm listening to other stuff on a different tab at the same time that I'm writing this.*
Ahhh. Tomassina... yeah. I know. Wierd name. At first I thought it was some made-up hispanic sounding name that my parents concocted, but apparently it's Italian- a female version of the name "Thomas." It has grown on me.
There is NOTHING more comfortable and wonderful than having a cat sleep with you. Whether it be against you, near you, or right on top of you-- having a cat hang out with you is the best thing ever. ^^ ... To me. .... So far as pets are concerned. << (Don't any of you screwballs out there take it the wrong way.) *pets my kitties jealously like an over dramatic mob boss*
AHEM.
ANYWAY. That very same evening, as my jaw was swelling over and turning purple like I'd been punched in both cheeks (seriously-- I dunno what the hell that dentist thought he was doing, but I still wanna kill him for mangling my mouth), my mom recieved a call from the lady that game them Tomassina. Ya know, to check up on how the cat was doing in their household and all that good stuff. My mom asked if any of Tomassina's littermates had been adopted in the past month since they adopted her, and to my mom's great surprise, none of her littermates had been adopted. Not even her drop-dead gorgeous sister with an extremely fluffy, lovely tail. My mom then suddenly came over to the couch where I was resting and asked me if I would like us to get this beautiful sister. Being the overdramatic dork that I am, I smiled the most bubbly and sparkly smile I could muster with my mutilated, puffed up mouth, and I batted my eyelashes in a such a way that tacitly said, "HELL YEAH!" 8D (I love kittehs!) <X3
Besides, this new house that my parents got in Missouri is way too big and way too empty with just 5 people, two dogs, and a cat. We gotta have at least 3 or four cats. << Or two. *evil laugh*
As soon as my mom got the go ahead from my dad, she recalled the lady to confirm that yes, we wanted the sister.
THE NEXT DAY. WEDNESDAY. At 6pm, the lady came and brought the beautiful fluffball that I have lovingly named *drumroll* Natalia. *ta daa! throws confetti* (I came up with the name while thinking of my first kitty who I had known and loved since the first grade, Natasha who died back in 2007.) My parents loved the name right away. Ironically both "Natasha" and "Natalia" are Russian names.
So now, after about two years I finally have a cat again. A cat that is for me. Mine. My baby. And I loved her right away. <8D She is the sweetest most adorable baby in the world. And she follows me EVERYWHERE. I think i did good this time- introducing myself to my new cat that is. I remember back in the first grade with Natasha, I totally traumatized her and chased her around the house all the time.
Yeah... Now I know to be A LOT more subtle in approaching the new kitty, and to give the cat it's space. (It's a miracle that Natasha ever grew to like me and sleep in my bed every night when i stop and think about it. I was totally a little terror, and i did tons of mad scientist-like things with my cat that bordered on animal abuse or just plain torture.... like rounding up all the kitties and putting them in the shower.... then turning on the shower and taking pictures of them as they meowed in terror and pawed at the glass door... ahhh. *sighs in nostalgic contentment* Good times. *dodges bricks from all the animal lovers out there.* [for those who actually give a damn, the shower incident was a one time thing and was never repeated. Ever... but since it's been almost 15 years since then, maybe I could give it a shot again, >D *cackles evilly* especially now that I've got this awesome high-tech new camera that's so much better than the polaroid thing I used back then--*dodges more bricks*-- OKAY OKAY. I don't want this second generation of kitties to become the shy sort that hides under the bed all day anyway.]
Naturally my new cat was scared shitless the first night she came over. She spent practically every moment of the first two days hiding under a dresser. But I was patient. >D I was seriously determined to seduce this cat. (ALL WILL LOVE ME AND DESPAIR!!! MWA HAHA HAHA HAHAAA!!!) To my surprise though, Natalia warmed up to me pretty quickly. (She even comes running with her bell collar a'jingling when i call her name. XD *coos sweet nonsense in a moment of romantic mushiness as i gush love all over my cat* The real challenge that required the most patience and work was getting Tomassina to accept that there was now another cat in the house, and that she was no longer Queen of the entire house territory.

It's not so much that this is heavy, but the fact that it's melting is something of concern....
